3-Day Cadaver Lab for the Acupuncturist—TESTIMONIAL DRAFT

Loading Events

In this 3-Day Cadaver Lab for Acupuncturist, each participant will be involved in a cadaver dissection. There will be four cadaver dissections occurring simultaneously with five participant dissectors per cadaver specimen. Each participant in the group will have the opportunity to palpate, dissect and needle important structures under the guidance of the Brian Lau and Matt Callison. The opening of each day will begin with a short presentation on the myofascial channel systems, motor entry points, target tissues, nerve pathways, needle depths and goals of the day’s dissection. Each practitioner dissects a region of the body to its completion in a way that will result in a learning opportunity for every member of the group.

The focus of this cadaver lab is to discover anatomical insights, learn how injuries can occur, what tissues are involved, how myofascial tissues connect to one another and to create open forum discussions between dissection groups. Comparative anatomy between specimens is an incredible learning opportunity. Nothing can replace doing dissection first hand, with your own hands and eyes. This cadaver lab is imperative for the acupuncturist as you will return to your practice with a new vision of your patients that helps with improved treatment outcomes.

Student Testimonials

The three-day cadaver dissection course was incredibly insightful. It really opened my eyes to how various parts of the body connect, and I was even surprised by some of these connections. They introduced a needle lab on the final day, which was a standout for me. It was designed for anyone wanting to get better at needling techniques, particularly in areas many were uncomfortable with before. The course also gave me the chance to meet plenty of new people and reconnect with old friends. For those looking to deepen their understanding of the anatomy related to needling, this course is a solid investment. The instructors, Matt Callison and Brian Lau, did a fantastic job in making the dissection process both educational and engaging. Incorporating this type of hands-on learning into the curriculum of TCM schools would be a game-changer, for our field
